Clear Ceramic Braces · Tooth-Coloured

Clear Ceramic Braces almost invisible.

Ceramic braces have tooth-coloured brackets that blend with the enamel. From normal conversational distance they're remarkably hard to see — making them the preferred choice for adult patients and senior students who want fixed braces without the metal look.

When ceramic is the right choice

Ceramic suits comprehensive cases where aligners aren't the best mechanical option, but the patient wants a discreet appearance. They move teeth as efficiently as metal braces — they just look quieter.

What to expect

Ceramic brackets are slightly larger than metal, and they need a little more care around staining foods (red wine, curry, turmeric) and high-pigment toothpastes. Treatment time matches metal braces — usually 18 to 24 months for comprehensive cases.

Cost difference

Ceramic braces are $500 above the equivalent metal braces, reflecting the bracket material. We'll quote the exact figure at your consultation.

FAQs · Clear Ceramic Braces

Questions we hear most.

Do ceramic braces stain?+

The brackets themselves don't stain. The clear elastic ties between adjustments can pick up colour from pigmented food and drink — these get changed every 6–8 weeks so any staining is short-lived.

Are they as strong as metal?+

Modern ceramic brackets are very strong, but slightly more brittle than metal. We may recommend metal brackets on the lower back teeth where bite force is highest.

Can adults and teenagers both have them?+

Yes. They're a popular fixed option for adult patients and a common choice for senior high-school students.
